Terms of use
Last updated 18 October 2026
Draft — pending legal review. This document explains how GoingAbroad works today. It is being reviewed by our lawyers and may change before it becomes final.
These terms apply when you use GoingAbroad as a job seeker, an employer or a migration agent. By creating an account you agree to them and to our Privacy policy.
The service
GoingAbroad is an Australian recruitment platform. We vet candidates, recommend matches using AI, apply for candidates to matching jobs, and give employers tools to review, interview and hire. People at the employer make every hiring decision.
Candidates
- Creating your profile, vetting (CV review and an AI interview), your ID check, the profile and skills assistant, training basics, full job details and having us apply for you to matching jobs cost candidates nothing. We never charge a placement fee, and nothing is ever charged or deducted to get or keep a job.
- Applying is automatic: once you’re vetted and your ID is verified, we apply for you to jobs that match your preferences. You can cancel any application within 24 hours, and you can tell us you’re no longer looking at any time.
- Prep is an optional practice subscription (A$25 per month incl. GST) or a one-off pass. You can cancel the subscription any time in one click; access continues to the end of the period you’ve paid for. Passes don’t renew. The price is the same for everyone.
- The information you give must be true and your own. We may verify claims against official registers you consent to.
- Prep only covers practice tools. It never affects your interview score, ranking, vetting, whether or where we submit you, or what employers see, and employers can’t see whether you pay.
Employers
- There are no upfront fees. A success fee is payable once a hired candidate starts, on the terms shown at setup: a flat A$990 (plus GST) per hire for organisations with fewer than 200 staff, or 3% of annual base salary (plus GST), capped at A$2,500, for 200 or more staff. No fee is payable if a sponsored candidate’s visa is refused. A 90-day replacement guarantee applies.
- Job ads must be genuine, lawful and non-discriminatory, and must not ask candidates to pay any fee.
- You must make your own hiring decisions and comply with workplace, anti-discrimination and migration laws, including sponsorship obligations.
- Your organisation name and contact details are hidden from candidates until you shortlist them or invite them to interview. Until then, please keep contact with candidates in GoingAbroad messages.
Non-circumvention (employers)
DRAFT — subject to legal review.
- A candidate is introduced by GoingAbroad on the earlier of: the date GoingAbroad first submits that candidate to your organisation, or the date anyone in your organisation first views that candidate’s profile on GoingAbroad. We record this date for each candidate and organisation.
- If your organisation, or a related entity or anyone acting for it, hires or engages a candidate introduced by GoingAbroad within 12 months of the introduction date, for any role and whether or not through the platform, the placement fee applies as if the hire had been made through GoingAbroad.
- You agree not to ask an introduced candidate to apply, or to contact you, outside GoingAbroad in order to avoid the placement fee.
- You must tell us within 14 days if you hire an introduced candidate outside the platform. We may invoice the placement fee for any such hire we become aware of.
Migration agents
Agents must be registered migration agents (MARN) or Australian legal practitioners, and give all immigration advice themselves. GoingAbroad does not give immigration advice. Agent practices are verified against the official register before candidates can choose them, and agent fees are governed by the agent terms accepted in the portal.
AI
AI outputs are recommendations, not decisions, and may contain mistakes. See the AI notice, including how to request a human review.
Acceptable use
Don’t misuse the platform: no fake jobs or profiles, no scraping, no attempts to game interviews, and no harassment. Report a job that looks wrong. We may suspend accounts that break these terms.
Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law. Otherwise, to the extent the law allows, we are not liable for hiring outcomes, visa outcomes or decisions made by employers or agents.
